Meet Kansas City burlesque stars, Lovita Pop and Tygris Calcutta! Lovita had a dream: TO. GET. THE. PARTY. STARTED! On a real note, she dreamed of bringing together artists of various talents and skill levels; creating an exciting, unique, and memorable opportunity for both performers and audience members. VSKC would NOT be what it is today without Tygris Calcutta: as a trans POC member of the LGBTQ+ community, Tygris is an advocate for supporting, uplifting, and fighting for the rights of these marginalized groups. Together their passion for creativity, diversity, accessibility, and proper payment for artists is what makes these events an important part of Kansas City’s live entertainment scene.
